We call ourselves Boatsafloat 2 because we have two boats. A 41 foot Beneteau Express Cruiser (new addition this year) and “Seanic Route” a 24-foot Pontoon boat.
Each boat is skippered by John Cavanaugh who holds a USCG 100 ton Masters License for inland waters. His mate in life and on the boat is his wife, Linda Evans.
We offer 2 hr, 3 hr and custom boat cruises for up to 6 passengers in the Port Susan and Saratoga Passage waters around Camano Island.
Tours start and end from our waterfront property at Tyee Beach located at the south end of Camano Island.

“ A boat tour with Captain Cavanaugh is a must for any visitor to Camano Island. We enjoyed a relaxing afternoon on the waters and then headed home with a wealth of freshly caught crab cleaned and cooked by the Captain himself. The hospitality we experienced with Boatsafloat 2 was an absolute highlight of our island vacation.”
We headed out on a tour on the main boat with my newlywed daughter and husband (him being born/raised in Boston). What a wonderful experience this was, particularly for him!!! We had the unexpected pleasure of seeing 4 orcas during the cruise. The boat was clean, ran well, and our hosts pointed out local beaches, mountains and island landmarks. I would wholeheartedly recommend BoatsAfloat2 for a special experience, even for those of us having lived in the area for years.”

Being out on the Sound with a tour of Port Susan and a stop at Langley on Whidbey Island for a free birthday beer had Terry saying this was the best birthday ever. I had been worried about transfers from beach to dingy to boat to pier and the walk up to Langley on my new knee, but you covered every worry with kindness and professionalism. It was a memorable day for all of us and the weather even cooperated! Looking forward to the next time we can get out on the water with you!”

Hi Captain John & Linda,
We had a great time on Saturday! The experience was great for Griffin and Matt!!! Thank you so much for teaching them to clean and cook the crabs as well!!! Matt & I think that cleaning them first and then cooking was a better choice...Griff however thought cooking them whole was better!!! Thank you for sending the picture, that is a great shot!

What are the sea conditions in these waters?
We operate only during the summer months June – September. This provides the maximum opportunity for calmer waters and a great adventure. Safety and fun adventures are the top priority. Should the sea or weather conditions become less than desired the captain has the option to cancel the booking and reschedule or provide a full refund.
What can we expect upon arrival?
Arriving 15 minutes early, we will confirm your reservation, complete the waiver, (sent out with booking) and discuss safety while on board. If we are using our power boat we will take you by dinghy to the mooring.
What should we wear?
Depending on weather, dress accordingly (layering is always a good idea). We will be departing from our beach. Wear appropriate footwear (water sandals, or other soft-soled shoes – no hard soles, please).
What can we bring?
We encourage you to bring your food and beverage of choice. We will provide bottled water and ice.
Cancellations allowed within three full days before tour date. Company retains right to cancel trips based on weather or rough water conditions.
